# About All Purpose Yoga

All Purpose Yoga is a small, locally operated, female-owned yoga studio in Boulder, Colorado.

The name is a play on living a purposeful life and practicing yoga with purpose. The studio materialized from versatility, inclusivity, and adaptability for all levels, goals, and people. Classes have no added heat.

Sangha is Sanskrit for community — the people we practice alongside. The membership is named Sangha because yoga is about belonging, not only what happens on the mat.

Seva Yoga is the yoga of selfless service, from Karma Yoga and Bhakti Yoga. All Purpose Yoga is a purpose-driven organization.

## Teachers

### Abaigeal Whiting

I first began instructing in 2014, inspired by the belief that yoga offers a lifelong opportunity for vitality, self-awareness, and collective healing. With my additional background in Nutrition, Athletic Training, and now Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I come from a deeply integrative lens. I view yoga as a path toward self-growth that guides our everyday actions. My classes are trauma-informed and draw from Vinyasa, Hatha, and Restorative lineages. Whether we’re building strength or slowing down, I aim to hold space that is inclusive, intentional, and explorative. In my class, you can expect to approach challenges with curiosity and movement that honors the self as a whole.

### Abigail Muñoz

Abigail is an experienced body coach and movement educator with over a decade of experience in therapeutic bodywork, yoga instruction and breathwork, dance, and prop manipulation. She is a passionate advocate for mindful, breath-focused movement with intentional, deliberate and personalized care for each practitioner. As a body coach her focus is to build strength and flexibility through mindful self-body analysis and incremental growth. Her goal is to help others craft deliberate, careful daily supportive routine structures, ultimately leading to greater enjoyment of life and less physical suffering. As a facilitator of the Body Wheel Therapy method, Abigail provides thoughtful, anatomy-informed stretches to support recovery, resilience, and long-term well-being. Body Wheel Therapy’s motto is “It is easier to relax when you feel supported”; Abigail aims to provide her students with the tools for that support. Abigail’s whole-body approach centers on targeted routines designed to help every ‘body’ build greater mobility, more mindful strength, and more detailed body awareness through practices that are both restorative and empowering. Certified as a Body Wheel Therapist and RYT 200–certified yoga teacher with continued training in restorative yoga, Pilates, HIIT and Prop manipulation, Abigail is excited to share her knowledge and support others toward sustainable, long-lasting and meaningful self-care.

### Amy Ulmer

Amy began her yoga journey as a stressed-out graduate student at the University of Mississippi. She eventually earned her 200 and 300 hour yoga teacher training certification through Southern Star Yoga in Oxford, Mississippi and has been teaching since 2018. Her goal as a yoga teacher is to share the aspects of yoga that have enriched her life, which include self-acceptance and physical and emotional well-being.

### Angelique Atlas

My name is Angelique, I am a yogi, climber, herbalist & doula in training. I have been practicing yoga for most of my life, and see the practice for all of the eight limbs with intentional guided movement through the asanas. I have a deep desire to support and hold space for others and through the deepening of my own practice and was called to teach in 2024. I teach with intention and care with the offering to honor your body, because I am but a guide on this moment of your journey. My offerings as a teacher include vinyasa, yin & restorative, as well as prenatal yoga. I look forward to connecting and working with you in practice.

### Bridget Dorr

As an artist, Bridget is drawn to the practice of noticing ~ light, movement, texture, breath, and the small moments that are easy to pass by. Her yoga practice is an extension of that same curiosity: a place to slow down, tune in, and become more present in her body and everyday life. A full-time photographer and ceramic artist, Bridget spends much of her life creating with her hands and observing the world around her. She sees both art and yoga as practices of presence ~ opportunities to step away from perfection, get curious, and connect more deeply with ourselves. Her classes blend intentional movement, breath, strength, and moments of stillness, creating space for students to explore rather than perform. Bridget hopes her classes feel grounding, approachable, and human ~ a place to move, breathe, notice, and leave feeling a little more connected to yourself and the world around you.

### Carlie Price

Like the natural world she reveres, Carlie’s yoga practice is ever-changing—fluid, unpredictable, and deeply alive. She sees yoga as one of life’s most profound teachers, gently (and sometimes painfully) reminding us of the beauty of impermanence.

Rooted in the ancient practice of svadhyaya—self-study—Carlie invites students to explore not just their bodies, but their inner landscapes. For her, yoga doesn’t end when we step off the mat; it’s a way of living, breathing, and being that weaves itself into the fabric of everyday life.

As a Contemplative Psychotherapist, Carlie blends Buddhist psychology with mindful movement and breathwork to help others navigate trauma and restore balance to overwhelmed nervous systems. Her work is a compassionate invitation: to slow down, feel deeply, and come home to ourselves.

### Dan Moody

I discovered yoga while living and adventuring in the High Sierra mountains of California in 2013. Since then, I’ve been deeply grateful for the inspiring teachers who have shared the practice with depth, authenticity, and curiosity. What began as a personal exploration gradually evolved into a desire to guide others along their own yogic path. My teaching is shaped by my background in massage therapy and a genuine fascination with how the body works. I’m drawn to the details—how a small shift can change everything, how breath creates space, and how strength and ease can coexist. I tend to blend precise fundamentals with exploration, emphasizing alignment and body awareness while encouraging both dedication and joy in the practice. When I’m not teaching, you’ll likely find me galavanting in the mountains snowboarding, building trails, hiking, biking or immersed in movement practice, studying therapeutic bodywork and continuing to explore the intersection of yoga, anatomy, and healing.

### Evalie Horner

Evalie Horner first encountered yoga as a young child in Oklahoma in the 1980s, when her mother gathered friends in their home to practice together, long before there were yoga studios nearby. She remembers loving the energy in the room—and that the family pets were drawn to it too. Evalie considers her mother, also named Evalie, her first yoga teacher. What began on the floor of her childhood home eventually became a spiritual and life path. Evalie is a yoga teacher, psychotherapist, writer, and poet. She holds 200- and 300-hour yoga teacher certifications, has trained in Yin Yoga and Grief Yoga Therapy, previously co-owned a yoga studio, and has continued her study of yoga’s philosophical and spiritual traditions through coursework in Naropa University’s MA Yoga Studies program. Evalie holds a PhD in psychology and works as a psychotherapist specializing in trauma, grief, neurodivergence, and LGBTQ+ experience. Her doctoral dissertation explored how depth psychology and yoga can help LGBTQ+ people heal from internalized shame. For Evalie, yoga is both an embodied physical practice and a spiritual path. Her study extends into yoga philosophy, history, mythology, texts, and Sanskrit. Particularly devoted to Śiva, she is drawn to yoga as a practice of transformation, paradox, embodiment, and liberation. Her teaching weaves together embodiment, depth, spirituality, curiosity, and poetry, including her own. She believes yoga can happen anywhere we become fully present, including wakesurfing behind her boat, Śiva, where she feels she has found samādhi.

### Ghita Carroll

Ghita has been practicing yoga for more than three decades and is excited to start a new chapter in her life as a yoga teacher. She fell in love with yoga, many moons ago, when she took a semester long yoga course at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Since then she has worked with an abundance of amazing teachers, and practices many yoga styles including yin, vinyasa, hot, restorative, dabbled in partner and acro yoga. Ghita enjoys doing yoga with family, friends, community, at home with her chihuahua Kip, and outdoors! Last Spring, Ghita completed a Yin Yoga training led by Caitlin Rose Kenney housed here, at the beautiful APY studio. Ghita loves this space and it’s in the neighborhood where she and her husband, Jeff, have raised their kids Cecil and Paulina. Ghita is a yin enthusiast and believes in the power of slowing down and the benefits that brings to individuals and communities. Ghita holds a doctorate in Environmental Studies and worked in the field of sustainability and education for 26 years. Ghita cares deeply about connecting humans to the natural world and hopes to bring some of that passion into her yoga classes. She looks forward to seeing you on the mat!

His classes invite students into the space of the heart with curiosity, offering moments of challenge alongside profound rest.

### Jade Powell

Jade Powell is an entrepreneur, accountant, yogini, and proprietor of All Purpose Yoga in Boulder, Colorado. Jade earned her MBA and BA in Accounting from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, where she was born and raised. In 2017, she visited a lifelong friend living in Boulder and the city pulled at her heartstrings for less than ten months before she relocated and decided to call it home. Jade’s relationship with Yoga began in the early 2000s, practicing Rodney Yee DVDs in the living room with her mom. Since then, she has continued her education and training in Vinyasa, Yin, and Trauma-Informed Yoga, allowing her practice and teaching to evolve alongside her life. In May 2025, The Little Yoga Studio, a beloved Boulder sanctuary where Jade had been teaching, closed its doors after 15 years. The loss was felt deeply throughout the community. With a curious heart, relentless ambition, a whole lot of synchronicity, and the support of countless friends, family members, and community members, Jade opened All Purpose Yoga just four months later. Her intention in creating APY was simple: to nurture and tend to a safe, welcoming place for people to practice Yoga and to build something that feels genuinely of and for the community. No moss grows on Jade’s stone. Outside the studio, you’ll find her playing drop-in ice hockey, bartending, riding her bike, baking, hiking, skiing, and, on occasion, painting.

### James Keener

James’ relationship with yoga utterly changed when he began a journey of healing and self-rediscovery from mental illness. Yin yoga was, in particular, a revelation that guided James back into a relationship with his body that he thought long lost. In yoga James found a cure from near constant dissociation and a community where he could feel unafraid in sharing his story. In his classes James provides a space where students can feel safe, be present in the moment, and explore their bodily experiences with compassion and ease. Outside of the studio James loves reading, running, watching movies, and spending time in nature.

### Jared Schulte

Jared is a dedicated yoga teacher and lifelong student of the practice. With two 200-hour yoga certifications and a background in trauma-informed and restorative yoga, he brings both depth and compassion to every class he leads. A veteran and single father of two boys, Jared embodies the strength, humility, and presence he invites others to discover on the mat. His teaching style balances grounded discipline with deep inner work – reminding students that yoga isn’t just movement, but medicine and technology for transformation. In his restorative classes, Jared encourages practice titivoners to “work inward,” creating space for stillness, healing, and self-connection. Originally from Wayne, NJ, he welcomes students of all levels, offering thoughtful modifications so everyone can move safely and effectively. Beyond yoga, Jared is passionate about nutrition and personal training. He offers tailored coaching – from beginners learning foundational movements to seasoned athletes refining their performance and nutrition for optimal health.

### Kate Diana

Kate started her yoga practice at a young age by borrowing DVDs from her local small-town library in Florida. She worked as a fitness instructor specializing in yoga for those experiencing MS, as well as mat-based Pilates, throughout college.

After moving to Boulder in 2012, she continued her goal of learning and teaching others about the physical and mental benefits of movement, while providing a space for what comes up when we stay still. She received her 200-hour yoga certification in the winter of 2017 before continuing on to complete an additional 65-hour Yin Yoga certification in the fall of 2018.

She has taught throughout her time in Boulder, focusing her classes around the practice of Aparigraha—a spiritual philosophy of non-attachment. Kate believes in the importance of adapting her classes to fit her participants’ needs in real time, while keeping them accessible to all bodies.

When not practicing yoga, you can find her tending to her small garden, walking her old pup, or enjoying the beautiful scenery around Boulder!

### Martha Reifenberg

Martha enjoys the curious and patient style of yin yoga, believing that it curates a more compassionate practice on and off the mat. In her class, you will always have the opportunity to explore and take a functional approach that will best serve your unique anatomy. Martha has completed her 200 hour vinyasa training and 50 hour yin training through her previous Indianapolis based studio. She began her yoga practice with Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, and eventually wove Yoga Therapy into her practice and teaching. ### Sarah Belanger

I came to yoga as a tool for mental health, grounding, and reconnecting to my body during a time when movement felt overwhelming rather than supportive. What began as a personal practice evolved into a way to foster connection, safety, and community for others. I’m a professional adaptive climber and disabled athlete who recently moved to Boulder from the Midwest in pursuit of a more active, outdoor centered lifestyle. I teach yoga with an emphasis on accessibility, nervous system regulation, and meeting people exactly where they are. I’m also the co-founder of Adapting Together, a nonprofit that hosts adaptive yoga retreats and experiences for people with disabilities, creating space for rest, joy, and belonging. I can’t wait to be in this space and practice alongside you.

### Taali Heckya

A being of love and all that comes with it. One of her favorite things is to share laughter with others— life replenishing, healing, & vital laughter. In a world that is so often sick we need simple remedies for the modern soul ache. Laughter is an ancient and universal tool—something we can all share with one another. Taali has been a yogini since she was 15 and continues to be deeply immersed in the roadmap that is yoga. She was first taught meditation as a tool for calming the disturbed mind when she was 15. Since then she has been experimenting with yoga and meditation as a way for embodied and healthy living. As she navigates her later 20s, she finds new and insightful ways to integrate the epic wisdom of asana, yoga of the mind, chanting/singing, writing, and meditative techniques to ease the discomfort of life. Under the guidance of elders and teachers she continues to be immensely grateful for being guided to the right places and people at the right time as she continues traveling the waves of being human. Taali completed her 200 YTT in 2020 and continues to seek higher wisdom and learning. This included living in India for 7 months with one her teachers at a yogashram for four months. Then another three months serving in a humanitarian role with a local NGO where she got to share yoga, laughter, and seva with the beautiful vibrant community in Dabhoi, Gujarat. When not doing yoga or laughing you can usually find Taali madly in love with life, the hard, the magical, the simple: dancing to the ever present miracles in everyday living.
